Data sources and counting method
Record fields and source cross-references come from research/data/pursue-records.csv; case-file context and place precision come from the archive’s case data and place gazetteer. These are built into the site. Filters and Summary aggregate that data for your selection.
A directed reference is one file citing another; a reciprocal pair counts as two directed references and one linked pair. Groups are connected files in the whole released set. Unresolved references are counted as the source wrote them, without repair. Shared places only relate files at point precision; a shared region does not establish a connection.
